Peppercorn Theme (video)

By Ankita Unnikrishnan

Background

On 28 February 2023, Peppercorn Magazine advertised a video commission opportunity through the ANU School of Art and Design (SoAD).

Our aim was to support a SoAD visual art student by paying for a commission. We requested submissions that emphasised creative freedom in line with the student's vision, with the only guidance being a 15-20 second video with a peppercorn used as a prop or image.

We received some good submissions and Ankita's proposal was chosen because it reflects Peppercorn's view of what student magazines should be: fun! We appreciated the interesting images and references being collated in a mosaic/collage/scrapbook style, whilst also mimicking a traditional news bulletin intro theme like BBC News or ABC News.

Peppercorn hopes to support more SoAD students in the future!
